Model Air is a series of matte acrylic colors designed specifically for airbrushing, utilizing advanced water-based formulations. This range incorporates novel resins selected for their unprecedented qualities in water-based paints. Model Air surpasses all current acrylic airbrush colors in terms of strength, durability, and coverage, while also being suitable for brush application to accentuate intricate miniature details. The pigments are chosen based on their light-fastness and optimal micronization, ensuring consistent quality.
To achieve various effects like washes and transparencies, colors can be diluted using Airbrush Thinner. They can also be intermixed with each other and thinned with water, Model Air Thinner, Varnish, or even alcohol, though Model Air Thinner is recommended to preserve color properties. The color selection is meticulously curated to meet the needs of model painters, aligning with commonly used references such as RLM, RAL, FS, BS, and ANA colors. Extensive testing over two years has refined these shades to perfection.
Model Air exhibits exceptional adhesion to all surfaces, including resin models, plastics, steel, and white metal, often eliminating the need for a primer. For very dark surfaces, applying a base coat of white or grey can enhance color vibrancy.
Instructions for use are straightforward: shake well before use and pour the paint directly into the airbrush, whether undiluted or pre-diluted with Thinner (71261). Colors can be mixed directly in the airbrush cup. Model Air dries almost instantly on models, allowing for immediate application of aging techniques, washes, pigments, and dry-brush methods.
